COS staff, including the JobSense Team are continuing to work from home and with participants either by phone or video call. WEFO have also relaxed the eligibility criteria during this period so COS can continue to take referrals and sign up new participants to the programme.

" On the JobSense project we are working specifically with people who are blind or have a sight loss. We offer specialist one to one support using a bespoke person-centred approach. The support offered is to help participants move closer to the employment market, access education, training, work experience or employment.

As Government guidelines are slightly relaxing we have gradually reintroduced meeting with participants, who wish to, face to face. There is no pressure from us to meet face to face but for some of our participants they have been socially excluded for the period of lockdown and have welcomed a chance of face to face interaction. This is following strictly Government guidelines.

During lockdown 4 of our participants have completed and achieved a WRC and 2 more are nearing completion, 2 have gained and worked in volunteering placements and a further participant completed a paid work placement in the care sector during this period. As such these participants have gained confidence, independence and become more actively included in society which is the aim of the project and as such are now at the end of journey with us.

We therefore have opportunity to work with new referrals and would like to assist others to benefit from what the project can offer.

Eligibility to work with us on the programme will require the participants to be over 25 living in Wrexham, Flintshire or North Powys who are economically inactive or long term unemployed (12 months or over)
