Neighbourly Food Donation Scheme

In February this year Aldi will be trialling the process of donating chilled goods from ALDI stores as part of the National Donation Programme. They will look to then expand this nationwide through the year.  So far the programme has donated over 3.2 millions meals. They hope that donations of the additional food items will feed many more. The ALDI Llandrindod Wells store has been selected to be a trial store for the region. Monday is the designated available collection day

Are you interested in the scheme?  

The collections would need to take place before 12' midday. The chilled goods will have been frozen the evening before. The hope is that this will maximise the amount of fresh goods they have available and also fresh meat, fresh fish and ready meals. The trial will last for 6 weeks and then move into a review period where  feedback on how it went will be essential.

Please find below a few requirements to take part in the scheme.

Requirements:

1. Register on Neighbourly.com

2. Ok to collect from the store before 12' midday

3. Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate dated within the past 2.5 years

4. Resources to be able to store/freeze, distribute or cook frozen food items.
