THE GLAZIERS’ FOUNDATION CONSERVATION GRANTS
Grants of up to £6,000 are available to ecclesiastic and public buildings across the UK for the conservation of historic and/or artistically significant and publicly accessible stained and architectural glass. The Foundation also makes a small number of awards to individuals.

o Application deadline: TUESDAY 24th SEPTEMBER 2024 at midday (12 noon) for the Foundation’s meeting on Tuesday 5th November 2024.
o Funder: The Glaziers’ Foundation (founded 2011. Charity number 1143700. Total value of all grants awarded during the year ended 30 November 2023: £43,947 (2022: £49,487; 2021: £40,161)).
o Who can apply: Ecclesiastical and other public buildings across the UK. Individuals may also apply for education and training related to stained glass conservation.

The Glaziers’ Foundation Conservation Grants are available to ecclesiastic and other public buildings across the UK exclusively for the conservation of historic and/or artistically significant and publicly accessible stained and architectural glass. The Foundation has two principal objectives:
1. The conservation of historic and/or artistically significant stained and architectural glass, and
2. Promoting the craft by supporting the education and training of craftsmen and women in the fields of stained and painted glass, and by fostering public information and awareness.
Grants of up to £6,000, with no matched funding requirement, are available.
Custodians responsible for the care of large glazing schemes are encouraged to focus their applications on a specific outstanding window that is judged to be in most need of conservation. Applications for grant-funding for multiple windows are unlikely to be successful.

Funding is not available for:
o Protection from vandalism.
o Restoration of multiple windows.
o Restoration of stone or brick work.
o Retrospective costs.
o The restoration of plain glazing.
o The transfer of glass from one window to another, unless in the meantime the glass went to a studio for repair or restoration, or
o Weather-proofing measures.
