Sage & Thyme Foundation Level Training Course
Powys Teaching Health Board, in partnership with care homes and the voluntary sector is introducing Sage & Thyme training, a method of teaching the communication skills required to provide psychological support to people who are concerned or distressed, by recognising, listening and responding to their concerns.
This half-day foundation level training is relevant to all staff who manage complaints, from the very informal at ward or departmental level, whether this be from patients or staff members, to formal complaints through the 'Putting Things Right' process.

There are 7 spaces available for Third Sector and 7 for Independent Care Homes on each session.
Evaluations from the first session in February, almost without exception, said the course was good or very good and identified several key points that they could use in their everyday practice to improve communication and bring difficult discussions to a satisfactory conclusion.
The next 2 courses will be on;
15th May and 26th June both from 12.30 to 16.00hrs.
