Powys Business Awards – An opportunity for social enterprises to be recognised
The search for the next winners of the annual Powys Business Awards (now celebrating its tenth year) was launched earlier this month.
There are 12 categories, including the Social Enterprise/ Charity Award, which recognises the importance of the third sector to the economy of the county.
This Award is open to any charitable organisation or enterprise trading in Powys with a social purpose and/or a not-for-profit basis.
Organisations are requested to complete a simple application form. The panel of judges are looking to see how the charity / social business meets the following criteria:
·Demonstrates an innovative approach to the way in which the enterprise operates and/ or meet its primary objectives.
·Make a positive impact on society/communities and/or environment
·Make a positive impact on the lives of individuals, particularly working in a manner which helps vulnerable and/or disadvantaged individuals to help themselves
·Has the potential for future development, growth and sustainability.
Following application, three finalists will be selected for the finals and will be visited by a pair of judges to discuss the organisation and application in more detail. Each finalist will receive two complimentary tickets to the awards evening - which is being held in Brecon on 4th October. A short, professionally produced film about your organisation will also be developed for the Award Ceremony.
The closing date for entries is the 12th July.
