Positive News in Difficult Times

We are supporting thousands of volunteers and hundreds of groups / organisations through our 13 Community Connector Support Networks. This week we started operating an out of hours duty line 5pm-10pm weekdays & 10am - 5pm weekends.

There has been a 300% increase in referrals to our community connector service over the last 3 weeks.

Thank you to all the wondeful people who have stepped up to volunteer. So far we have recruited the following COVID19 Powys Health & Care Volunteers.

234 registered volunteers

202 completed assessment forms

Of the 234:

177 registered as Health and Care Drivers

32 registered to support residential homes

55 registered to support Domiciliary Care

52 registered to help prepare food in hospitals

These are registered with PAVO to be placed in PTHB & PCC settings (or their commissioned services) to support statutory services:

As we await placement requests from PCC & PTHB a number of volunteers have been placed with GP surgeries & pharmacies to help with prescription deliveries. Most GP surgeries and pharmacies across Powys have signed up to our scheme.

Until such time as we begin to place volunteers in statutory setting we are verifying qualifications etc & offering online training

We still need more volunteers visit bit.ly/PowysVolunteers to sign up for formal volunteering or contact your local community group to find out more about informal opportunities in your area.
