New year, new skill - late availability BSL courses.

Accessibility Powys are offering introductory BSL classes to staff, volunteers and beneficiaries of third sector organisations in Powys, to start 11th January 2022.

These are designed for complete beginners and will initially be delivered through six weekly sessions by Zoom. You will need access to a device with working camera so that you can be supported to practice on screen.

The training will be delivered to small classes to enable lots of practice during the class.  There will also be an expectation that participants practice a little bit between sessions (even just 5-10 minutes a day would make a huge difference) either independently or in pairs.

The aim of the course will be to understand the structure of the language, to learn some basic phrases and vocabulary and finger spelling. They will be an opportunity to contribute to the content of later classes and potentially to continue for further sessions if people are interested.

Please email accessibilitypowys002(at)outlook.com if you would like to sign up.

Classes will run at the following times

Six Tuesdays from 10.30am – 12.30pm starting 11th January 2022

Six Wednesdays from 6.30pm – 8.30 pm starting 12th January 2022 (or this could be 7pm-9pm if that is better for people?)

Six Thursdays from 12.30 – 2.30 pm starting 13th January
