Men’s Sheds Cymru – Wellbeing and Community Inclusion Survey
Men’s Sheds Cymru have been working to help establish and develop Men’s Sheds throughout Wales since 2014. During this time, the Men’s Sheds movement in Wales has grown from 0 to almost 70 groups.
The Men’s Sheds Cymru project is approaching the end of its second round of Big Lottery funding, and we are in the process of applying for a third round in order that we can continue our work.
We have already held several consultation events with Men’s Shed members throughout Wales. It is vital that we now gather the views and opinions of Men’s Shed members we have not yet spoken to, their friends, family members, the wider community and representatives from the range of community support organisations that help us achieve our aims.
We have prepared a survey that we hope will capture the views of each of these groups. Your answer to the first question will determine which set of questions you’ll be given. After that we will be asking you to answer about a dozen questions. They are not difficult, and shouldn’t take you more than 10 minutes. We would be really grateful if you could spare that 10 minutes.
Our recent consultation events have confirmed the message we are repeatedly given through the course of our work; Men’s Sheds are changing, and often saving men’s lives. We believe in the work we are doing and want it to continue, but competition for funding is tough, so we need to gather all the evidence we can.
We are sending this survey out through all the channels we have, and we would be grateful if you could forward the survey link to as many people as you can think of. We really would like lots of answers. Unfortunately, this might mean that some of you will be getting multiple copies of this email. Please forgive us for filling up your inbox, we do hope you understand.
