The Community Sector Emergency Response Team (C-SERT) and PAVO have worked together to distribute small grants to help communities respond to the Covid-19 emergency. The C-SERT Emergency Fund is drawn from the Welsh Government Integrated Care Fund (ICF), allocated by the Powys Regional Partnership Board (RPB).

One of the community organisations who have benefitted is Llanwrtyd Community Transport, who provide a range of transport and volunteer services in Llanwrtyd and the area.

Operations Manager Laura Burns said:
"Since we have had to cancel all our regular shopper services due the pandemic, we have adapted our services and now offer a shopping collection and delivery service to our vulnerable members who are isolating. Incorporated in this is also a prescription delivery service. We are also maintaining transport services for members who require journeys to essential medical appointments, and shopping journeys for those who do not need to isolate.

We are constantly looking at ways to help everyone in the community and how best to adapt our service to fit their needs in these unprecedented times. With the help of the grant funding, we are able to offer help to the community free of charge.

Our wonderful volunteers are really going above and beyond in these difficult times. In the photos are John, one of our volunteers, delivering shopping to Susan, one of our vulnerable members. John also delivers shopping to several of Susan’s neighbours, some have called the service a lifeline, as they don’t use computers and so can’t access online shopping services.”
