Hungry for PAVO Training this February?

For allotment owners everywhere, February is known as the beginning of the ‘Hungry Gap’ – where the winter stores of spuds and swedes are starting to run out but the ground is still too cold to sow the seeds of new growth. Well it’s not that different for Third Sector organisations, so why not fill the Hungry Gap this month with some PAVO Training?

Hungry for PAVO Training This February?

For many organisations, the end of the financial year marks the end of funding streams and projects, and is a time for reporting on targets and achievements. Yet it also marks the approach of Spring, with the beginning of new projects, a new cycle of funding, and possibly new jobs and opportunities.

PAVO’s February crop of training offers a range of half and full day courses to help you prepare the ground for new projects and funding, or to take stock of where your organisation is going – so that you can start the new financial year with confidence and a new sense of direction:

  • Our What Every Board Member Needs to Know sessions will help you get the basics in place so that your trustee board know their responsibilities and how to work together to steward your organisation through the year ahead. These are scheduled as evening sessions to allow busy trustees to attend after work.

  • Getting Your Policies in Order for Volunteers will make sure that your organisation has the resources, procedures and supportive culture to make new volunteers’ experiences positive and productive (so they can tell their friends!). While our Essentials of Safeguarding courses are an excellent opportunity to train new staff and volunteers so that everyone is on the same page.

  • If the year ahead looks uncertain, our free session on Creating a Resilient Organisation will help you sleep at night. If you are planning to apply for new funding in the year ahead, you should sign up for Fundraising 102: Planning & Writing a Strategy

  • You will also find our Introduction to Measuring Impact webinar useful for refreshing your organisation’s purpose and direction and making sure that you give funders a real sense of the difference it is making in your community.

  • Also, if this is the year you have decided to be more active on social media to involve people in your project, why not sign up to Social Media 1.0: Planning and Design to make sure your efforts hit the mark?

  • Finally, after last year’s tour of the county, our free CaPowys Taster Days are coming home to PAVO’s offices in Llandrindod and Newtown, so join us for an exciting day of learning and networking with other local groups.
