The research will be the first in Powys, possibly in Wales, to look closely at the support relationships between people within a community.
Sue Newham, Health and Wellbeing officer for PAVO said, “Early results are showing something that I have always suspected, that a very large percentage of the people in Newtown do a lot of helping as a regular part of their routine!”
“We are aiming for 500 responses to our on-line survey by the end of February. If you live in the wider Newtown area, or in the town, please help us by doing our 5 minute survey on-line.”

We will share our anonymised research with the County Council, the Health Board and other voluntary organisations and they will use it to influence their decisions and policies. We fully expect that change will happen as a result of what we learn about the Newtown community.
