Coronavirus Self-employment Income Support Scheme

If you are self-employed and the coronavirus has affected you, the Coronavirus Self-employment Income Support Scheme will allow you to claim a taxable grant.

This grant will be worth 80% of trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months. This may be extended if needed.

If you are eligible, the HMRC will contact you to invite you to apply online. You do not need to contact HMRC. Contacting HMRC now will only delay the urgent work to introduce the scheme.

You can find more information about the Self-employment Income Support Scheme on GOV.UK.

You can make a claim for Universal Credit while you wait for the grant. The grant may affect the amount of Universal Credit you get, but will not affect claims for earlier periods.
