Celebrating Powys's trustees

Trustees’ Week 2020 – 2nd to 6th November - is an opportunity to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.

At PAVO we’ll be celebrating the invaluable contribution of the thousands of trustees who volunteer their time running charities in Powys. Our recent Third Sector Skills, which focussed on trustees, gives us a great opportunity to do this in the form of a video round-up of its successes around the County.

We’ll be taking a look at the common barriers people perceive to becoming a trustee & talking to existing trustees whose organisations have recently benefitted from Social Value grants to find out how they benefit from their work. We’re also taking the opportunity to explore some of the trickier aspects of good governance.

Training during the week focusses on the basics of being a Trustee – ideal for anyone who’s on a board or is considering taking on a governance role. There’s also a session on the responsibilities & decision-making processes for trustees responsible for public spaces, who are considered how to re-open safely during COVID. You can find out more about these sessions here.

If you’ve a burning question that affects you as a trustee, or you’d just like to have a chat about becoming a trustee, one of our development staff will be available via digital drop-in sessions throughout the week. Keep an eye on social media & our website to find out more about what’s going on and – most importantly –get involved!
