Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Wales team as Senior Regional Services Coordinators covering the Powys region. The role will contribute to the development of our unique Welsh Government funded project CWTCH Cymru (Communities with Touchpoints Can Help) to strengthen our community focus and ensure no one faces arthritis alone.

This new, exciting position is for someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can lead and motivate people. You will be joining a growing team who are passionate about providing high quality services to people with arthritis across Wales. Versus Arthritis wants to involve people at scale, increase the recognition of arthritis and maximise our impact for people with arthritis. About the role

You will play an integral role in developing the CWTCH Cymru project which will deliver innovative local support models, empowering people with arthritis to be agents of their own health and wellbeing. As a key team member, you will play a pivotal role in working collaboratively internally and externally to deliver a seamless portfolio of services linked to our charity outcomes.

You will be responsible for providing clear and consistent line management support to a team of home-based staff as well as overseeing volunteer support within your region. In parallel you will be responsible for co-ordinating, shaping and delivering peer support, self-management, and activity services for people with arthritis as well as building strong positive relationships with communities across the region.

Due to the nature of our services, some evening and weekend working may be required.

Key requirements

Our ideal candidate will be someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to lead and motivate people with:

  • An understanding of the third sector and health and social care landscape in Powys.
  • An organised approach, able to structure your days and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience of managing staff that cover difference fields of work, including home-based staff.
  • Experience of service delivery including performance reporting, budgeting, and monitoring.
  • Experience of working with volunteers.

You will be home based and therefore travel is involved. At times, there may also be additional travel for team meetings and to cover for Service Coordinators.

About the role

As part of the CWTCH Cymru delivery team the Professional Engagement officer will contribute to the development of our professional engagement and education portfolio, which supports Versus Arthritis professional ‘alumni’ members to access training and development opportunities to support best practice. This includes extending the reach of our e-learning package ‘Core skills in musculoskeletal care’ aimed at GPs and other healthcare professionals and developed in partnership with The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).

You will help to build our professional ‘alumni’ network to provide professionals with access to good practice, regular information and research updates and support from a peer community. You will scope out opportunities to reach priority professional groups, including those in primary care, physiotherapists and other professionals, and contribute to shaping insight activities to help inform our engagement and education work with these audiences.

You will engage with a range of health and social care education providers, healthcare providers, professional bodies, and other third sector organisations to identify opportunities for partnership working, sharing of best practice and innovation and promotion/development of our services. Working closely and collaboratively with colleagues across the charity is essential to help ensure that our work is integrated and the opportunities for cross-team working maximised.

Key requirements
  • Experience in working with health and social care education providers, professional bodies, and other third sector organisations to arrange and deliver training and development opportunities.
  • Experience in contributing to delivery of innovative engagement activities with a range of audiences.
  • Experience in project management, including applying evaluation and impact measures, budget management, problem solving and the ability to manage several ongoing tasks, prioritise and deliver to agreed timescales and quality.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, including direction of external consultants and delivery partners/suppliers.
  • Experience in data management and use of CRM systems to maintain accurate data records of stakeholders and helping to develop the customer journey.
