This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with money and debt advice experience to join our Housing Team. Welfare reform changes have seen the biggest upheaval in the benefits system for decades. With many of our residents being directly affected we are committed to helping them navigate these changes and assisting them to sustain their tenancies.
As our Tenancy Support Officer, you will be at the forefront of this and will provide an invaluable service to residents, many of whom would have lost income and potentially their homes were it not for these interventions.
What will you be doing?
To succeed in this role, you will have a genuine passion and interest in what we do as an organisation. In this role you will report directly into the Housing Manager, it will be important for you to:
• Work closely with the Housing team, sharing knowledge and experience.
• Support residents to tackle financial and benefit issues they face, liaising with external organisations where appropriate.
• Work with residents to understand what matters to them and how we can help them achieve their aspirations.
We are looking for someone who has a proven experience of working with people affected by welfare reform changes including the benefit cap and universal credit.
Engagement with residents is key so the candidate needs to be approachable and understanding of the issues whilst being able to give advice clearly and accurately in resident’s homes.
Please note: The current location for this role is Powys, and you would be able to work from a variety of locations where you will be able to meet with team members and residents. For further information about the role please view the role profile by following the below link.
