Information & Signposting Assistant Advertisement:
Fixed term contract – December 2021
18 hours per week to include Tuesday, Thursday and Friday @ £10.00 per hour
An innovative and ground-breaking community led project is seeking an assistant to support the development of an Information and signposting facility to meet a wide range of need within the local community. The project is funded by Arwain/Leader (European Funding) & is a partnership initiative between Powys County Council Libraries (PCC) and Knighton & District Community Centre (K&DCC). The successful candidate will build on the existing partnership working we have in place with PAVO and Knighton and District’s Community Connector allowing community resources to be further enhanced.
Main Duties:
The gathering and collation of information about support available within the community, together with organisation of existing lists of local providers of services.
The development of a local Register of Providers and linkage to national data-bases.
The development of information hubs using a variety of communications media and face-to-face opportunities, for enhancing access to information, guidance, signposting and support.
Contributing to the development of a comprehensive signposting and advisory framework for local residents.
Ensuring there is a legacy framework for the continuation of the project.
To apply for this newly created post, you would ideally have:
Experience & knowledge of working with community groups and local services
Experience and knowledge of successfully recruiting, training and supervising volunteers
Experience and knowledge of working with various IT packages, social media forums, video conferencing platforms and a willingness to learn to use new software packages and platforms
Willingness to work effectively as part of a team, ability to work alone and attend supervision and training as needed
The closing date for this position is the 29th March 2021 12pm & interviews will be conducted by Zoom on the 9th April 2021 (afternoon)
