This could be the opportunity that changes your life!
A vacancy exists for the position of General Manager of this small, long established but busy generalist advice centre based in the Mid Wales town of Machynlleth.
Advice Mid Wales is an independent Advice Centre. We provide Free, Impartial, and Confidential advice and support to people in The North Powys, North Ceredigion, and South Merionethshire areas.
We are a registered charity and members of Advice UK. Our staff provide clients with Specialist advice on Welfare Benefits, Debt, and Money, in addition to General advice on everyday issues. We are often the only place left that people can come to in order to seek Free, Independent, and Impartial advice on debt, benefits, housing, employment, family, and other everyday issues.
The charity benefits from a dedicated team of highly skilled paid staff and volunteers and delivers a high quality advice and support service.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to take on the role ofGeneral Manager. The successful candidate will preferably have experience of the Voluntary and Community Sector, and ideally of advice services, with a proven track record in a management role.
This is a different challenge requiring a unique set of skills, not just the usual ones of dealing with a Trustee Board, juggling a rota of Volunteers, and paid staff supervision. The post holder will also need to have the ability to engage with a widely dispersed population, keeping a small but essential charity looking attractive to Funders, and working from a town which sits at the junction of three local authority area. These being just some of the issues you will deal with.
This is an important role and you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to client care, and be highly organised and efficient, including being able to maintain targets and high-quality standards.
