Are you thinking about recruiting volunteers?

Or maybe you are already have an active volunteer programme but are unsure whether you have the right systems in place to support them?

Course Content

In the rush to find and recruit volunteers to help support your services and activities, it is often easy to forget the essentials. Yet without clear policies and active procedures supporting your volunteer programme the experience and treatment of volunteers can suffer.

Getting the policies and procedures right from the start will lay the foundation for an enjoyable and stress free volunteering experience both for volunteers and for those who work with them. 

This course provides an introduction and refresher to the key features of an effective volunteering policy and how best to implement them for the benefit and protection of your volunteers. It also also includes to an up-to-date review of legislation relevant to volunteers.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course participants will:

  • Be able to develop a volunteering policy
  • Have considered what other policies might be necessary
  • Understand key legal issues relating to volunteers

This course is aimed at those thinking of recruiting volunteers for the first time.

It will also suit organisations with existing volunteer programmes who wish to refresh and update their volunteer policies and procedures.
