The Volant Charitable Trust was established by the author J K Rowling, principally to support women and children’s causes in Scotland. Its COVID-19 Response Fund is, however, open to all charities and social enterprises across the UK that can evidence how they can help reduce social deprivation by supporting vulnerable members of society that have been negatively impacted by COVID.

Volant’s COVID-19 Response Fund is a revenue-only grant fund that will support project and administrative costs (the Trust does not fund capital expenditure).

Registered charities, community groups, Community Interest Companies and social enterprises based and working in the UK may apply for a grant.

There are no minimum or maximum grant levels for the Fund. Matched funding is not an essential requirement.

To be eligible to apply, applicants must fulfil the following criteria:

o Be constituted (have a governing document).
o Have a bank account in the name of the group with at least two unrelated signatories.
o Have at least 3 unrelated members on their management committee.
o Have at least 2 unrelated cheque signatories, and
o Have committee meetings with a quorum of at least 3 unrelated members present.
