The Trust is currently inviting applications for grants of up to £25,000 from UK registered charities for new and innovative projects in at least one of the following areas:
o Collaboration and Sustainability: promoting positive change to improve the sustainability of the sight loss sector. Transformative activities will be considered that require an investment to make that change happen. This might include developing organisations’ technological capabilities, restructuring reviews, feasibility studies, partnership working (including resource sharing) or integrations and mergers.
o Education: enabling opportunities for blind and partially sighted children and young people in and entering education.
o Employment: creating employment opportunities for blind and partially sighted people.
o Engagement: facilitating the voice and encouraging self-determination of blind and partially sighted people, and
o Research and technology initiatives in the areas of collaboration and sustainability, education, employment and engagement.
Grants can be used for:
o Capital equipment where the capital items form part of the total cost of the project submitted.
o New staff posts.
o Paid training.
o Professional fees, such as consultants, and
o Resource development, including printing, marketing, website design etc.
