Grants up to £4,000 for UK not-for-profit organisations, institutions and individuals working in the UK (and occasionally outside the UK) to deliver projects that advance horticulture (i.e. the agriculture of plants).

Application deadlines: Monday 15 February and Sunday 15 August 2021.

Who can apply: UK not-for-profit organisations, institutions and individuals working in the UK and occasionally outside the UK.

The Trust awards grants from £100 to around £4,000.

Grants are available for projects in the areas of:

o Botany with a strong horticultural element.
o Gardening, and/or
o Horticulture.

Please note that the Trust (which shouldn't be confused with the Staley Smith Horticultural Trust in the United States) does not maintain a website for UK applicants. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.

The first step in the application process is a letter of application, followed by a full proposal if invited to apply.

Application deadlines for 2021 are:

1. Monday 15 February for the April meeting of the Trust, and
2. Sunday 15 August for the October meeting of the Trust.
