Grants of up to £150 are available to enable charitable groups to host a Good Food Get Together in their community that bring people of different backgrounds and/or ages together to strengthen and connect communities through one or more of food growing, cooking and food sharing. Activities can take place in person or virtually via online video conferencing platforms such as Zoom.
Projects must:
o Be community led.
o Bring people together.
o Encourage a positive attitude to ageing and diversity.
o Have potential to be long term.
o Include people from disadvantaged and diverse communities.
o Reduce the experience of loneliness or social isolation, and
o Take place within Plant and Share Month (Wednesday 20 April 2022 to Friday 20 May 2022).
Grants can be used to contribute to the cost of the food, tools and materials required to bring a community together and get Food for Life Get Togethers up and running.
To apply, groups and organisations are required to register their Food for Life Get Together on the Soil Association website. Following registration, they will receive free resources and information to help plan, run and record the success of their Get Together and to be introduced to the Soil Association teams in their area.
