THE SAFETY OF WOMEN AT NIGHT FUND

Grants up to £300,000 for interventions in England and Wales which focus on preventing violence against women and girls in public spaces at night, including in the night-time economy. Eligible applicants include local authorities and civil society organisations such as charities, community and voluntary organisations, social enterprises and cooperatives.

o Funder: The Home Office.

o Who can apply: civil society organisations (charities, community and voluntary organisations, social enterprises and cooperatives), local authorities, Police and Crime Commissioners in England and Wales, and the British Transport Police. Projects must take place in England and Wales. Partnership bids are welcomed.

The Safety of Women at Night Fund is designed fund initiatives focused on preventing violence against women and girls in public spaces at night, including:

o In the night-time economy (economic activity taking place in the evening and night time).
o In venues, 
and
o On related routes home

The main aims of the fund are to:

o Reduce incidents of violence against women and girls (VAWG) in public spaces at night, including in the night-time economy.
o Reduce the fear of VAWG and improve feelings of safety in public spaces at night, including in the night-time economy, 
and to
o Build an evidence base for what works in improving women’s safety in public spaces at night, including in the night-time economy.

Grants of up to £300,000 with no matched funding requirement are available to eligible organisations (see list above) for projects in England and Wales.
