The Safety of Women at Night Fund is designed fund initiatives focused on preventing violence against women and girls in public spaces at night, including:
o In the night-time economy (economic activity taking place in the evening and night time).
o In venues, and
o On related routes home
The main aims of the fund are to:
o Reduce incidents of violence against women and girls (VAWG) in public spaces at night, including in the night-time economy.
o Reduce the fear of VAWG and improve feelings of safety in public spaces at night, including in the night-time economy, and to
o Build an evidence base for what works in improving women’s safety in public spaces at night, including in the night-time economy.
Grants of up to £300,000 with no matched funding requirement are available to eligible organisations (see list above) for projects in England and Wales.
