THE PRUDENCE TRUST “MORE PLACES TO GO FOR HELP" GRANTS

Grants of between £30,000 and £150,000 a year for up to 3 years are available to UK registered charities to increase support for young people aged 11-25 struggling with anxiety and/or depression.

o Who can apply: UK registered charities with an annual income above £250,000 that can demonstrate a track record of running mental health support services or services for young people aged 11-25.

The recently formed grant-making charity, the Prudence Trust, has just launched its inaugural open grants round, entitled “More Places To Go For Help”. This is a £1.5 million funding round to increase support for young people struggling with anxiety and/or depression.

Charities with an established track record in delivering mental health services for young people aged 11 to 25 (at least 80% of beneficiaries must be in the 11-25 age range) are invited to apply for grants of between £30,000-£150,000 a year for up to 3 years.

Grants can be used to increase capacity or expand existing mental health services or create new services which will give young people aged 11-25 who are struggling with depression or anxiety more places to go to get help, by, for example by (please note that this is not an exclusive list):

o Creating new drop-in centres within the community.
o Developing new online support services.
o Expanding an existing service into new locations, 
and
o Increasing the availability or capacity of an existing service.

Projects must be based in London (defined as within the M25). However, projects offered online can be based anywhere in the UK.

Grants can be used for the majority of costs relating to setting up, expanding or delivering a service, such as:

o Evaluation of the service.
o Overheads.
o Programme/running costs.
o Purchase of equipment.
o Refurbishment work, 
and
o Salaries.

Funding is not available for: 

o Activities where the primary purpose is not mental health support.
o Costs associated with the purchase or leasing of a property.
o Generalised wellbeing support.
o One-off interventions.
o Online services that are likely to have a majority of beneficiaries based outside the UK.
o Projects that are simply about providing information, 
or
o Retrospective funding (we can only fund costs incurred after June 2022).

o Visits and meetings with shortlisted applicants: April to mid-May 2022.
