THE MASONIC CHARITABLE FOUNDATION HOSPICE GRANTS: RE-IMAGINING DAY HOSPICE SERVICES

Capital and revenue grants up to £35,000 for children and adult hospices in England, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man for projects which will re-open day care using new approaches to both virtual and safe face-to-face services.

o Who can apply: children and adult hospices in England, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man that are full members of Hospice UK.

In partnership with Hospice UK, the Masonic Charitable Foundation Hospice Grants – Re-Imaging Day Hospice Services is a £300,000 grant programme which will fund up to 10 projects within hospices aimed at re-opening day care using new approaches to both virtual and safe face-to-face services. Grants should address any urgent needs a hospice might face in delivering its services in a radically changing COVID and post-COVID environment.

Grants of up to £35,000 are available to support children and adult hospices in England, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man that are members of Hospice UK.

Grants can be used to make better use of technology, for example (please note that this is not an exclusive list):

o Building on recent experiences gained during COVID-19, and
o Technological innovations offering the opportunity to make transformative shifts in patient-centred care models.

Examples of possible projects include:

o Capital costs for redeveloping a Day Room to include use of technology.
o Equipment for patients.
o Equipment, marketing/publicity material and resources, 
and
o Staff training.

Funding is not available for:

o Activities such as undertaking a needs analysis or mapping exercise.
o Direct salary costs for tasks not related to the project in question.
o Hospices awarded a grant in the April 2021 Masonic Charitable Foundation/Hospice UK widening access programme.
o Hospices based in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
o Feasibility studies.
o Isolated pieces of equipment not related to the proposed work.
o The continuation of existing service, 
or
o Work that has already started before April 2022.
