THE DIDYMUS FUND

Grants generally up to £5,000 are available to smaller UK registered charities for projects in the UK, Central and South America and Africa for projects that encourage social inclusion, advance education, develop the arts, create opportunities for women and encourage religious understanding.

o Application deadline: WEDNESDAY 31st AUGUST 2022 at midday (12 noon). Further application deadlines are provided below.

o Funder: Didymus (founded 2013. Charity number 1152432. Total value of all grants awarded during the year ended 1 December 2020: £197,541).

o Who can apply: smaller UK registered charities with an annual income of between £20,000 and £1 million.

The Didymus Fund provides grants usually up to £5,000 - with the occasional higher award - to smaller UK registered charities for projects in the UK, Central America, South America and/or Africa which meet one or more of Didymus’s 5 goals of:

1. Encouraging social inclusion.
2. Advancing education.
3. Developing the Arts.
4. Advancing equality and diversity by creating opportunities for women, 
and/or
5. Promoting religious understanding.

Applicants should be:

o A UK registered charity for 3 years, have lodged two sets of accounts with the Charity Commission, and have previously been successful in receiving funds from Didymus.
o Applying for work based in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Africa or Central and South America
o Applying for work that fulfils ones of Didymus’ 5 goals (see above).
o Applying for a grant of £5,000 or less, 
and
o Have an annual income of between £20,000 and £1,000,000.

Please note that last year, due to excessive demand on Didymus’ funds, the Charity restricted its grant-making to UK charities that it had previously funded. This condition has remained for 2022. 

Grants can be used for such things as (please note this is not an exclusive list):

o Education and training.
o Providing activities, 
and
o Purchasing equipment.

The next group of application deadlines are:

1. Wednesday 31st August at 12 noon for consideration in October.
2. 
Saturday 31st December at 12 noon for consideration in February 2023.
3.
 Sunday 30th April 2023 for consideration in June 2023.

The next application deadline is therefore Wednesday 31st August 2022 at 12 noon (midday), but please note Didymus' funding condition that, at the moment, it will only consider applications from previously funded applicants.
