Capital grants up to £5,000 for UK charities and not-for-profits outside of London to purchase essential items to adapt or increase services in response to the coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic.

Application deadline: none – applications may be made at any time. Eligibility Quiz followed by access to the application form. Please note: we advise an early application to this programme as funds are limited.

The Clothworkers’ Foundation’s £300,000 Emergency Capital Programme will provide funding for the purchase of essential capital items required to adapt or increase a UK charity's services in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The scheme is for charities and not-for-profits outside of London.

Priority will be given to organisations supporting vulnerable and 'at risk' groups within the Foundation's nine programme areas:

o Alcohol and substance misuse.
o Disadvantaged minority communities.
o Disadvantaged young people.
o Domestic and sexual abuse.
o Homelessness.
o Older people.
o People with disabilities.
o Prisoners and ex-offenders,
o Visual impairment.

UK charities and not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of less than £2 million, including registered charities, Community Interest Companies, Charitable Incorporated Organisations and special schools may apply for a grant of up to £5,000.

Funding is not available for:

o Organisations that promote a particular religion or that only provide services to people of a particular religion.
o Organisations whose beneficiaries are based in London (a separate funding scheme - London Community Response Fund - is available for London charities),
o Capital projects that are planned as part of the organisation's ordinary course of business.

To apply, applicants should complete the online Eligibility Quiz on the Foundation’s website (scroll down to the foot of the page to access the quiz). Eligible applicants will then be invited to complete an application form. The Foundation has said a decision will be made within 2 weeks of receipt of each application.

There is no application deadline for this programme, but as the budget is limited and the Foundation has a wide number of priorities it wishes to support, we strongly advise making an early application.
