The Casey Trust provides funding UK registered charities for projects that benefit the welfare of children up to the age of 18 in the UK.
The Trust is specifically looking for start-up projects or identifiable new initiatives within existing projects, rather than contributions to recurring events or continuing programmes, however worthy. As an example, the Trust suggests imagining a situation where a charity identifies a further project with potential and thinks "if only we had the funds to do that."
Currently the Trust is particularly looking to support children's projects connected with:
o The arts.
o Mental health.
o Child refugees in the UK and
o Inner-London based projects (the Trust is based in Camden, London).
During the year ending 30 June 2018 the Trust awarded 61 grants totalling £172,754. The average grant was therefore £2,832.
Funding is not available for:
o Individuals, or
o General schemes such as core funding, parental or community support, publications, medical research, construction etc.
The Trustees expect to monitor and, wherever possible, to visit the projects they help to fund. They also expect to receive reports, twice annually, with information on funded projects.
Applications may be made at any time in writing (there is no application form) and are considered quarterly by the Trust.
Applicants should provide:
o A brief outline of what the organisation does.
o A brief outline of what the project is.
o A clear budget and, if possible,
o A recent set of the organisation’s accounts should be included.
Please note that applications must be sent by post - applications submitted by email will not be accepted.
