The Brook Trust is an independent grant-making charity that seeks to achieve its objectives by working with and donating to registered charities. The Trust has broadly drafted objectives and has the discretion to make any grants for purely charitable causes.

The Trust prioritises small to medium sized UK registered charities that are supporting unpopular or hard-to-fund causes, particularly in the following areas:

1. Organisations and programmes providing support for women and children victims of domestic and sexual violence and abuse, Including crisis services, after care and rehabilitation programmes, and
2. Programmes designed to deliver effective 'early intervention' services to support parents, children and families to break cycles of social and economic deprivation and dysfunction, with particular emphasis on early years development, education and good mental health.

The Trust’s "early Intervention" theme is focused mainly on support for families with pre-school age children, and the promotion of good mental health and resilience among children in primary and secondary schools.

The Trust awards grants in support of core costs and front-line services. The greater part of its funding goes to support ongoing costs and sustaining or expanding existing, effective, interventions. The Brook Trust Is Increasingly providing multi-year or continuation funding to organisations with whom it has established successful relationships over time.

Further information about the Trust and its grant-making can be found on the Trust’s website.

While the Trust does not accept unsolicited applications, UK registered charities whose services and activities align with the Trust’s priorities, may make an initial enquiry by email, addressed to info(at)brooktrust.org.
