The Foundation is particularly keen to receive applications from sectors that have received less funding from the Foundation in the past, specifically:
o Organisations with a focus on housing and/or social care.
o Organisations working in Wales or the English regions outside of Greater London; and
o Organisations which focus on less used areas of law, such as projects that focus on labour law or housing law and under-utilised areas of equality and human rights law such as race equality provisions.
Applications will be considered from civil society organisations (particularly charities) in the UK who:
o Fulfil all three criteria in their definition of a hub organisation.
o Have hub activities as one of their main areas of activity.
o Can demonstrate pre-existing plans for scaling their hub activity;
o Are a legally registered not-for-profit entity in the UK, preferably a charity.
o Have at least one full year’s accounts.
o Have an income of under £1.5m per year; and
o Will undertake activities with this grant which delivers benefit in the UK (applications for international work will not be considered).
The Fund has a 3-stage application process, as follows
o Stage 1: the first stage is a 300-word of Expression of Interest. The deadline for this Expression of Interest is Wednesday 28 July. Expressions of Interest can be submitted at this LINK.
o Stage 2: applicants that are successful at the Expression of Interest Stage will be invited to submit a detailed written application.
o Stage 3: The final stage is a semi-formal interview with the Baring Foundation and its funding partners.
Further information, resources and application guidelines is available on the Foundation’s website.
