Capital grants usually between £2,000 and £50,000 are available to UK registered charities that are working in the areas of conservation and the protection and improvement of the UK’s physical and natural environment.

Bristol-based family grant-making charity, the Banister Charitable Trust is an environmentally focussed grant-making charity which regularly awards grants exceeding £1 million in total each year.

UK registered charities may apply foa grant for projects that conserve, improve, promote and protect the physical and natural environment in the UK. Grants are normally awarded for capital projects. The Trust is a regular supporter of RSPBs, Wildlife Trusts and River Trusts.

The Trust’s objects are to:

o Promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment in the United Kingdom, and
o Further such other purpose or purposes which are exclusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales in such manner as the Trustees may in their absolute discretion think fit.
