The Magic Little Grants Fund provides local charities and community groups with the opportunity to access funding to deliver engaging physical activities, which help to overcome barriers to participation. It is a very short and simple grant application so it is really worth applying - it will take 10min to apply!
To benefit from funding, projects need to either overcome 'barriers to participation in physical activities in creative ways' or 'increase social cohesion through developing access to sports and other recreational activities'. Examples of funded work include: a walking group for a mental health charity; hall hire and instructor costs for a yoga class; equipment for a sports club; youth club activities; chair aerobics classed for the elderly; wheelchair basketball costs; the costs of a private pool hire to take an autism support group swimming. Applicants do not have to be an existing member of Localgiving or a registered charity, they just need to be a not-for-profit group and have a bank account for Localgiving to transfer the grant/donations into. Successful applicants will also receive a free year of Localgiving membership where they are able to explore online fundraising.
