The Brecon Beacons Park Society is a voluntary organisation whose objectives are to support the aim and objectives of the Brecon Beacons National Park with over 800 members across the UK. The Society was instrumental in creating the Dark Sky Reserve and is also involved in the restoration of the Gunpowder Works in the south west of the National Park amongst other projects. We also run an extensive walks programme, with guided walks throughout the whole year in and around the area and a series of evening talks. We now have two vacancies on our Executive Committee:-
Publicity and Communications Officer. To take the lead on publicising the activities of the Society on all forms of media, including social media. This could include a regular newsletter.
Events Officer. To plan and publish the Society’s Events Programme. This programme comprises of evening talks, currently held by Zoom, but normally held mainly at The Bear in Crickhowell. The role involves identifying and contacting potential speakers, and managing the event on the evening.
Both these roles include the option to become Trustees of the Society.
