Alzheimer's Society - Still Available for Support

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is a likelihood that 850,000 people affected by dementia will be cut off from their families, their communities and the services they rely on. The Alzheimers Society want to assure you that they are still committed to providing support to people affected by dementia.

The Alzheimers Society have had to suspend face to face service provision but are still providing support over the telephone.  In addition to the Dementia Connect service, they are currently offering welfare and companion calls to check-in on people during these unsettling times.

If there is anyone you can think of that you feel would benefit from this, please refer them to the Alzheimers Society using our online portal.  Individuals can also access support online 24/7 and can self-refer.

Dementia Connect, from Alzheimer’s Society, is a personalised support service for people with dementia, their carers, families and friends.  The service connects people affected by dementia with free support and advice available currently by phone and online.  From practical advice about living with dementia, to someone to talk to when things get tough.  Dementia Connect is there for people with all types of dementia, with a diagnosis or pre-diagnosis.  As well as carers, family or friends of someone who has dementia.  Once someone has been referred, they will continue to receive support for as long as they need.
