THE SCOTTISH POWER FOUNDATION

Project grants of between £35,000 and £200,000 for UK registered charities for projects in the areas of the arts, citizenship and community development, culture, disability relief, education, environment, heritage, science, social welfare and the relief of poverty.

Who can apply: UK registered charities with an annual income of more than £50,000.

The Scottish Power Foundation provides generagrants for project funding (but not running costs) of between £35,000 and £200,000 to UK registered charities providing projects in the following fields:

o The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and/or science.
o The advancement of citizenship or community development.
o The advancement of education.
o The advancement of environmental protection or improvement
o The prevention or relief of poverty, 
and
o The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.

The Foundation is particularly interested in receiving applications from UK charities that are supporting people who are most marginalised and disadvantaged in the United Kingdom.

Projects should address one or more of the following:

Art and culture - to protect and safeguard artistic and cultural heritage by promoting conservation and restoration of the arts and supporting local development.
Biodiversity and climate change - to support the protection of the environment and to enhance biodiversity; to actively contribute in the fight against climate change.
Education, training and research - to support education, training and research in general, prioritising innovation in order to contribute to energy sustainability, and/or
Social initiatives - to contribute to sustainable human development by supporting the most vulnerable people and groups.

Projects should also demonstrate how they address one or more of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals of:

o Affordable and clean energy.
o Clean water and sanitation.
o Climate action.
o Decent work and economic growth.
o Gender equality.
o Good health and wellbeing.
o Industry, innovation and infrastructure.
o Life below water.
o Life on land.
o No poverty.
o Peace, justice and strong institutions.
o Partnership working.
o Quality education.
o Reduced inequalities.
o Responsible consumption and production.
o Sustainable cities and communities, 
and
o Zero hunger.

Grants are available for 12 months only. Projects must start during 2022 and be completed within 12 months.
