Grants of up to £1,500 are available for Children's Summer Activities across the UK for children and young people aged 5-18.

The Hilden Charitable Fund and Bristol-based charity Social Farms and Gardens are partnering again in 2022 to provide Children’s Summer Activity Grants to its members to help children learn and play in nature this summer. Membership of Social Farms and Gardens is open to any organisation delivering nature-based activities that improve people's lives (for example, the delivery of care services or community development through farming or gardening). The funders are particularly interested in receiving applications that demonstrate how summer activities will reach children and young people who are from disadvantaged backgrounds or who have disabilities. 

This year’s Summer Activities budget is £34,000 from which grants of up to £1,500 can be used to support activities that will engage children and young people with nature during July and August 2022. 

UK registered charities and voluntary and community groups that are members of Social Farms and Gardens can apply for up to £1,500 to deliver activities for children and young people aged 5–18 that: 

o Connect them with nature.
o Support them to play, learn and have fun outdoors, 
and
o Take place in July and/or August 2022. 

Activities can be solely funded by the grant or it can contribute to a larger scheme or initiative.

Please note that applicants will be asked to submit a copy of their most recent accounts,  safeguarding policy and public liability insurance certificate. Applications submitted without these supporting documents will not be considered for funding.

The application deadline is 12 noon on Monday 30th May 2022.

Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 6th June and will receive 50% of their grant on return of a signed grant acceptance letter. The remaining 50% will be released on submission of a grant report by 23rd September 2022.
