The Archer Trust is a UK Christian charitable grant-making Trust with the following charitable objectives:
1. To relieve suffering amongst the aged, impotent or poor.
2. To advance education,
3. To advance the Christian religion, and
4. To help such other charitable objects as the trustees may think fit.
The Trust meets its charitable objectives by making grants to UK registered charities working in the UK and/or overseas. Grants are normally between £500 and £4,000, with the occasional higher award.
The Trust favours small charities which provide support to defined groups of needy or deserving people. Charities should demonstrate that they are competently managed, able to provide up-to-date accounts, and show that a grant from the Trust would make a significant difference to their services or for a specific project. The Trust supports projects both in the UK and overseas, but for overseas projects only via UK charities which can ensure that funds are being well used.
The Trust prefers to support charities that are:
o Operating in areas of high unemployment and deprivation, and
o Make good use of volunteers.
he Trust maintains a single-page website, providing details about its background, funding criteria and how to apply.
The Trust usually meets twice a year, in the spring and autumn, to review requests for grant support. It does not normally respond to unsuccessful applicants.
