Grants up to £2,500 for UK-based community groups to bring music projects to their local communities.

Music for All’s Community Project Grants programme is designed to support projects across the UK that are seeking to bring music to their community. Grants are available for schools and not-for-profit groups that need financial support in order to fulfil their potential in developing truly sustainable music programmes.

Community Project Grants are usually given for the purchase of instruments, associated equipment or for teaching costs. However, all applications are judged on their merit and other project elements may also be considered.

Applications are assessed against the following main criteria:

o The number of new musicians the project will create and support.
o The sustainability of the project (to ensure that people are able to continue their musical journeys), and
o Whether there are any other organisations supporting the project that can help with funding, or if funding applications have been made to other charities. (Music for All likes to help as many applicants as it can, so often works with other organisations to enable projects to gain the full support required.)

UK-based groups, schools and organisations that are bringing music to their communities may apply for a grant of up to £2,500.

There is a match funding requirement for this fund and applicants are encouraged to seek funding from other sources for their project before applying.

During the year ending 31 March 2018 Music For All allocated grants totalling £48,904, of which £26,407 was awarded to organisations and £22,497 to individuals.

Funding is not available for:

o Retrospective costs.
o Applicants based outside of the UK and Ireland.
o Applicants present in the UK only for the purpose of education or attending a course of study.

The 2020 application deadlines are:

o Saturday 1 February for projects starting in April.
o Wednesday 1 July for projects starting in September, and
o Sunday 1 November for projects starting in January 2021.

Further information, together with an online application form, can be found on the Music for All website.
