Update from Hayley Thomas: Better Together in Powys PTHB

Since we launched the latest phase of our Better Together engagement on 9 June, we’ve
been hearing from people across Powys about the future of adult physical and mental health
community services. I’d like to warmly encourage you to share your views if you haven’t
already had the chance.
This is a vital conversation about how we respond to the real challenges facing local health
services—rising demand, workforce pressures, ageing infrastructure, and financial
constraints. The scenarios we’ve shared are designed to spark ideas and dialogue about
how we can work together to shape services that are safe, sustainable, and focused on what
matters most to our communities.
Your insights and experience are incredibly valuable in helping us understand the impact of
these scenarios and in shaping the best way forward.
You can read the engagement document and share your views by 27 July 2025 at

Printed copies are available in local libraries or can be requested by ringing 01874 442
917 and leaving your name and address.
Local events have already taken place in Brecon, Welshpool, Ystradgynlais, Llandrindod and
Newtown as well as our online event.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us shape the future of safe,
quality health services for Powys.
Warm regards,
Hayley Thomas
