Volunteer Week celebration in Llanfyllin

Welcome to this volunteer week celebration organised by the North Montgomeryshire volunteer bureau.

We have a number of certificates to give out to volunteers. The Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations (PAVO) has provided them as a thank you to local volunteers.

Colin Cooper joined the community car scheme in 2003.

He provides regular weekly transport to and from day services whilst also volunteering for other organisations.

Colin is a very active volunteer and volunteering is his passion.

He gets a lot of enjoyment out of helping others.

Rob Ellis has been a volunteer driver for 15 years, providing weekly journeys for local people.

Over recent months Rob has given up his own hobby to help a local resident attend their appointments.

Rob always puts others before himself and is a credit to the community, NMVB and himself.

Audrey Jones from Llanwddyn, organises everything for the church there, alongside volunteering on the local Hope House support group,

organising trips for the people of Llanwddyn and much more.

Derek Evans has been a volunteer with NMVB for 17 years.

He is their busiest volunteer driver.

During 2017-2018 Derek has given 729 hours of his time and has driven 14,522 miles.

This is an amazing achievement and deserves recognition, even if Derek doesn't agree.

Basil Davies is the NMVB's longest standing volunteer.

He had been providing transport via Social Services even before NMVB was established.

So Basil has been supporting our community for 25 years! We cannot thank Basil enough for his continued dedication and support.

Llinos Lewis has been a volunteer driver for 7 years.

During this time she has been a valued befriender whilst providing transport on a regular basis.

Llinos has always been very active within the community supporting others less fortunate than herself.

She always tries to help where she can and we are very lucky and privileged to have Llinos as part of our team.

Jeanne Spinks has been volunteering at the shop and driving for the community car scheme for 4 years. J

eanne gives up her time to help others on a weekly basis.

She is a volunteer that will travel the widths and breadths of the country helping patients attend their appointments.

On top of that she is one of the NMVB trustees.
