An Introduction to Sustainable Funding

Wednesday 5th June 2013 (Full Day)

Providing an insight into how organisations can diversity their income base to achieve financial sustainability.  Topics covered include trading, loan finance, procurement and public service delivery, asset based development, as well as giving and public fundraising.

Who is the training for: the course will benefit those in the early stages of putting into place procedures for working towards achieving financial sustainability for their organisation.

  • appreciate the skill s and approaches required to adopt an entrepreneurial culture;

Internet Fundraising

Wednesday 18th September 2013 - full day (£35 per person)

An introduction to fundraising using the internet. This session will explain the many ways in which the internet can be used as a fundraising tool, from online donations, to shopping to advertising and more.  It will show how effective the internet can be as a means at connecting with donors / supporters and using these connections to spread the news about your work. It will look briefly at the different ways of communicating with supporters online (email, twitter, facebook blogs etc) and help you plan your online fundraising campaigns.

Crowd Funding

Wednesday 16 October 2013 (half day)

Crowdfunding is a fast growing method through which money can be raised to finance a project or, business start up. Online 'platforms' allow thousands of people to directly fund project and business causes, cutting out intermediary bodies and allowing the owner of the project/ business to appeal directly to potential funders.

This half day course will provide an introduction to Crowdfunding, explaining the process and models that are used.  The session will cover:

  • · The Platforms - looking at some of the online sites that facilitate Crowdfunding
