Welcome to ‘Dignity Drive’

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is delighted to share with you our new interactive tool for learning about the Human Rights Act. Dignity Drive puts each of the Articles of the Act into an everyday context by looking at how they affect real people and why they are therefore so important.

In Dignity Drive each of the residents has a story to tell about how the Human Rights Act protects their rights. At each home you will find a case study, and real life examples of how human rights can make a difference to ordinary people. Some of the residents have films to show you of what a human rights approach looks like in different organisations.

Last year, our Human Rights Inquiry found that a human rights approach can lead to a better quality of life for many people, better public service delivery, as well improving organisational effectiveness and enhancing staff morale. A first step for developing a human rights approach could be to use Dignity Drive to raise awareness of human rights within your organisation.

Dignity Drive can be used in training sessions or workshops, or as a stand-alone resource which individuals can complete at their computer workstations. This resource is free to use and requires no permissions to distribute. However, we would be very grateful to receive any comments or feedback!

Dignity Drive is a bilingual resource and can be accessed via the Commission’s website at www.equalityhumanrights.com/dignitydrive
