Function: To oversee and coordinate activity to develop and deliver education, skills and training services in Powys. Its remit includes transformational projects for Powys schools system, as well as training and development (including apprenticeships) for those not in education.

Membership: PCC, PAVO, Schools, NPTC, NFTW, Careers Wales

Meeting Frequency: Quarterly

Project Boards and other partnership groups under the Board's governance:

1. Twenty First Century Schools

Purpose: To develop and implement Powys' project to deliver PCC's schools modernisation programme, including:

  • Brecon Campus project
  • Ysgol Dafydd Lloyd project
  • Gwernyfed project
  • Glantwymyn project
  • Welshpool project
  • Machynlleth project
  • Cashless systems in schools project
  • Early Years project

Membership: PCC only

Third Sector Representation: None

 

2. Powys Youth Engagement and Progression Framework Board

Purpose: To develop and implement activity from the Youth Engagement and Progression Framework to support the education and training of young people and young adults (16-25).

  • Workstream 1: Early indentifiction of NEETs
  • Workstream 2: NEET Management
  • Workstream 3: Provision
  • Workstream 4: Funding (education improvement grant, ESF funding)
  • Workstream 5: Powys Youth Academy

Membership: PCC, PAVO, Careers Wales, schools, DWP, Cambrian Training, NPTC
