British Humanist Association

The BHA has written guidance for public authorities and organisations who may be undertaking 'religion or belief' equalities work. It gives information about current legislation with regard to 'religion and belief' and gives good practice guidelines on employment and equality schemes.

BHA has also designed a toolkit to support equality practioners in their work by giving guidance and information about the 'strand' via exercises and presentations. It can be used by anyone who is comfortable giving presentations and can be delivered to colleagues in the equality sector, 'religion or belief' groups and other community groups.

Transsexual Awareness Training

Michelle describes herself as a trans woman. She has first hand experience of the inequalities & discrimination suffered by trans people on a daily basis. She has a particular interest in promoting understanding and acceptance of trans people, and providing a trans perspective to anyone who will listen, to that end she works with organisations talking about the day-to-day trails & tribulations which she and many other trans people, suffer.

Michelle has complied and published a leaflet (June 09) Transfacts A small collection of potentially useful information. An honest and informative leaflet that can be easily downloaded.
