Over the last two years Citizens Advice has been working on its strategy to transform the CAB service and substantially improve access to advice and has created a programme of work to enable it to do so. On particular aspect of this work is the creation of a Citizens Advice Telephone service named ' Adviceline Cymru'.
Citizens Advice is committed to ensuring that local funding is used for local communities and has built in systems and safeguards that will prevent one area becoming a burden on or taking advantage of another.
As part of he creation of Adviceline Cymru, Citizens Advice is in partnership with the bureaux of Wales creating a Wales wide bi-lingual telephone advice service using Virtual Call Centre technology.
Powys Citizens Advice became part of this service on 5th July 2010.
Muriel Ryan, County Manager, Powys CAB said'Enquiries to bureaux across Wales rose by 11% last year. Adviceline Cymru will enable more people in Wales to access free confidential advice on any issue they may have.'
