What Does Epilepsy Mean To You?
You can't drive?
It is not life threatening?
You can't use a computer or go to night clubs?
You don't know anyone with it?
Chances are - you are wrong!
If you have only sleep-time seizures, under certain criteria you can hold a driving licence, or if your medication controls your seizures, you can apply for your licence.
Epilepsy is responsible for more deaths than Aids and Cot Death combined, 50 poeple in Wales die each year from SUDEP.
Only one specific type of epilepsy is affected by flashing lights.
Epilepsy is more common than diabetes. At the Winter Faire in November statistically over 200 people will have epilepsy!
Dogs and horses can also have epilepsy - but that is another trade stand!
Surprised?
