Launch of the Care to Work Project

The Care to Work Project, run by Mid & West Wales Chamber in partnership with Crossroads Care...

The Care to Work Project, run by Mid & West Wales Chamber in partnership with Crossroads Care Mid & West Wales is having an image change! This is a relatively mew project which supports Carers and Former Carers across Powys to access training, education and voluntary/work placements. The new name is STARS which stands for 'Support, Training and Recognition of Skills' reflecting the aims of the project.
A re-launch of this project will be on Friday 25th February 2011 at The Pavilion, Llandrindod Wells at 2pm. Light refreshments will be provided and all are welcome.
Mid & West Wales are currently running a 'Moving forward with Confidence' day to support carers and former carers in planning their next moves and their personal and professional futures. This is provining very popular and will be run again in the future. As they are in partnership with Crossroads Care Mid & West Wales, they are able to offer replacement care for any carer attending our training days/courses and events. They are finding that the one to one support they offer to individuals is also extremely helpful and we are constantly looking for more ways to support Carers and Former Carers across these two counties. If you are a carer or former carer not in full time paid work and interested in becoming involved with the project ir if you wish to talk to the Project Officer please call Maria on 07792 567 056 or email :

The first on a series of one day events - each focusing on a specific issue - to improve frontline service delivery of housing related support
Modernising domestic abuse services has been set as a top priority by the Welsh Assembly and local authority Supporting People and Homelessness teams.
Discussions amongst service providers, commissioners and the Assembly have highlighted a range of 'hot topics' important to address including how we better serve people with complex needs, how we respond to men fleeing domestic abuse, as well as ensuring the general quality of services and accommodation can continue to improve in the current economic climate.
In partnership Llamau and Hafan Cymru, Cymorth Cymru are bringing together commissioners, providers and all other stakeholders involved in Domestic Abuse Services.
The event will offer the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others, discuss some of the key issues and network with other organisations involved in design and delivery of Domestic Abuse Services.
Delegate Costs: Cymorth Cymru Member: £65 + VAT; Non member: £115 + VAT
Exhibition Costs: Cymorth Cymru Member: £150 + VAT; Non member £200 + VAT
If you would like to book on to the above please contact:
or telephone: 02920 553687

Starts Tuesday 26th October 2010
2.45pm to 4.15pm
For 6 weeks
What is Dramatherapy?
Dramatherapy is a form of psychotherapy which uses a variety of creative materials to help participants explore and express their difficulties.
What happens during the sessions?
Ultimately the sessions will be what the participants want them to be. It is your time and Lucia will be there to support you, not to tell you what to do. The sessions are safe and confidential - what happens in, stays in. Each participant is respected in their choices.
The name Dramatherapy can be a bit misleading. The typical session would include talking, sharing and using creative materials to have fun and help us ti connect with ourselves. We would meet once a week to talk and be creative.
What will I get out of it?
It is an opportunity for you to be yourself is a supportive group.
What if I'm not sure?
Please come anyway. Although it is possible that it won't be your cup of tea, I would love to hear from you. Come to a session and let me know what you think.
For more information and to book on the course, check out our other activities
