Celf o Gwmpas Personal Mapping - Helen Ivory

Since 1998 Celf o Gwmpas, Llandrindod Wells has built up a significant understanding of both the needs and aspirations of our participants. This knowledge is reflected in our values and in our workshops, exhibitions and performances with adults, young people and children.

As part of the Arts Council Wales 'In Residence' project, poet Helen Ivory will be delivering 9 workshops for women across May and June at our base, Centre Celf in Llandrindod Wells.

Helen Ivory is an English poet, artist, tutor and editor, winning an Eric Gregory Award in 1999. She is an experienced creative writing tutor and workshop leader and has taught both undergraduates and in adult education for around ten years. She has also run workshops in schools and is a freelance tutor and mentor. She edits the webzine Ink Sweat and Tears, and is Course Director for the new University of East Anglia and Writers' Centre Norwich (UEA/WCN) Creative Writing Programme. Her fourth Bloodaxe Books collection is Waiting for Bluebeard. (2013)

The workshops will give women a safe space to gather materials through group discussions and activities, to encourage them to keep journals or sketchbooks and produce a series of poems and word image collages that map a personal walking journey through Powys.
