A study into the feasibility of a linked community transport network

Project Description

The project seeks to develop a vehicle and driver matching scheme and create a linked rural transport network in the county through more efficient use of existing resources, e.g minibuses and community car schemes.

Across the county there are many unused and under-used vehicles whose use could be increased by connecting the user and provider together. The exact number, location and activity of the vehicles that might be available to groups and individuals who require transport is not known. Our project will address this issue by co-ordinating the use and availability of community vehicles across the county. This approach could bring benefits to the providers and users of community transport.
