PAVO held an event on 9th June 2008 on Churches as Assets. The document covering the content of the day together with information on funders for Churches/ religious buildings can be found here.

The Assembly's Communities and Culture Committee have stated that The National Assembly for Wales should improve its voluntary sector funding by reviewing its funding criteria, simplifying applications and developing an online information service. But the report does not call for more funding.

Some tools to help with Funding Strategies

This is a short fact sheet in issues that groups in Powys face or support people to overcome.  The statistics given maybe helpful in providing evidence of need in applications for funding.

Obtaining funding to cover costs such as salaries, rent and utilities is a common challenge. This Guidance Note from Bond provides a step by step guide to developing a core funding strategy. For more information on Bond see their website here.

The table below has links to the census data from 2001 for the planning areas of Powys, the statistics they give are useful to help demonstrate a need for funding, for instance the number of people living alone, households without cars, people with lifelong limiting illness.
